Chaffetz's rush to get surgery before he leaves Congress is because his current health insurance [View all]

will cover this pre-existing condition. After he resigns "to spend more time with his family" he may not be able to get health insurance that would pay for the surgery if he and his fellow congressional cretins (R) get their way.

That is my take on this immediate need for surgery.
