When Reagan started talking about "limited nuclear war". My dad finally made the switch.
The purple heart Bandaids at the republican convention making fun of Kerry was the last straw for Andrew Sullivan.
When they spied on a family who testified about the need to keep health care for kids and complained that they couldn't be poor because they had granite kitchen counters. John Cole made the switch.
I'm sure these are simplistic answers in all three cases but these were the things that I identified as pushing them over the edge.
For me, I'd say Reagan. We held an impeachment ball the night he was inaugurated. Primarily his stand on education being bad.
