(45,484 posts)46. Years ago, I saw an interview with some Republican congresswoman and she talked
about how the government wastes money and how it impacted people's lives due to the taxes that went to pay for it. She made a lot of sense until she picked the most wasteful program (in her opinion) and it was the free lunch program for school kids.
Here was some rich white women, how never missed a meal in her life, wanting to eliminate a cheap govt program that did so much good. For that point on, I knew that I had nothing in common with that shortsighted, selfish crowd. I truly believe Republicanism is a mental disease. I hope that one day those people can be cured or at least treated.
