6. And Here's My Problem With The "Red-And-Blue" Map Republicans Trot Out After Every Election

SQUARE MILES DON'T VOTE!!! PEOPLE DO!!! An entire red county on that map could consist of less than 100 voters, whereas a tiny blue dot may represent literally MILLIONS of votes. So whenever your RW acquaintances try to trot out that map (as they do after literally EVERY election) to indicate that Democrats are just a small, isolated minority, remember the mantra: square miles don't vote; people do.

It's also incredibly racist and/or elitist, because it implies that the "only" people who vote Democratic are the minorities and selected few who populate the big cities, whereas everyone else makes up the "real America." It's the same veiled language they use when they sneeringly hiss the words "big city voters" through their teeth. It's dog whistle language that means "minorities."
