He'll take his leave of absence for surgery when the committee work starts to pile up and it looks like he's either going to have to go after Dolt45 and his organization (and be politically dead) or take the honorable way out with a long, phony medical leave for a surgery that would take him out of action for 3 days, tops, after which he'd have a cast and crutches but be perfectly capable of sitting all day.
