And that's not to let Comey off in the least.

Honestly, I can't make heads or tails about Comey, even after all these months. I'm not sure if he had some sort of an axe to grind against Hillary so that's what he did. Or maybe he actually preferred Hillary over Trump but acted more harshly against her because he didn't want to act as if he was favoring her and tip his bias. Or maybe he was more than happy letting the reactionary types within the FBI run the asylum. Or maybe he was just simply an incompetent, bumbling buffoon who kept on digging himself into a deeper and deeper hole.

Whatever it was, I think Comey has caused the country some serious grief, whether it was intentional or unintentional.

But Donald Trump--and his cohorts--are something else. Something far more malicious and evil. They conspired with the autocratic leader of Russia to violate the privacy of Americans and unduly influence the American voting public for their own personal gain. And they have lied about it and covered it up. That's still the key story of outrage here.
