By "empathizing" with their stupid, racist, flat-earth views?

By reassuring ourselves that they're not bad people, they just don't mind voting for venal, incompetent, arrogant self-righteous shitbags like Trump, McConnell, Ryan, Gohmert, Steve King, and the rest?
