61. Optimism is a good thing.

It won't win elections, but it does make it easier to sleep at night.

I've been a yellow dog for several decades. Never voted for anything other than Democrats.

I am very left. I liked Bernie when he started, but knew that his attacks only cut support for the candidate that was going to be the nominee.

We are not talking about those who supported another candidate in the primary. We are talking about those who wouldn't stop their campaign attacks after the primary. Our local party had to deal with dozens of sour pusses who cranked on at every meeting, carping about crooked Hillary. Sure they voted for her, but loved to tell everyone they knew how they were holding their noses to do so. How many of those they knew from work heard these "Democrats" carping about Hillary in September and October? I heard them where I work. If these people were loyal, then we wouldn't be here. They won't be loyal in four years either.

A post mortem does a lot of fucking good. You do one to find out what caused the death. Without one, there will be more deaths. I think the lesson that can come from a post mortem is just what you say you want. We need unity. We did not have it in the last election.

The lesson is that we will lose if we do not have solidarity. Too many Democrats forgot that union strength in the last election.
