Asheville is liberal, but the rest is crazy rightwing all back in those hills and hollers. Shuler was like finding a $20 bill on the sidewalk. You pick it up, smile and don't worry too much where is came from. Same with Manchin. People who criticize him need to spend some time campaigning in WV for their progressive icon and get back to me.
