The healthcare vote was very important but not for the reason Republicans think. [View all]

It was the first major legislative victory for Donald Trump and the first legislative loss for Paul Ryan and the Republican Party.

It was important in that they voted to go along with someone who, they know in their hearts, should never be in the position he is in. Yet, they betrayed not only the country, but their own hearts and consciences, also.

They lent credibility to someone undeserving of credibility and, in doing so, did harm to our nation. They gave a stamp of approval to someone that is not normal and who they know little about, other than that he is unstable and rude, prone to name calling and narcissistic longings.

They changed a lot with their votes. They accepted the unacceptable.
