... but at least in Germany, many scientists are used to reading and writing (in rough shape) articles in English and working with people from all over the world (using English). Well, at least in the field of computer science and probably other STEM (or MINT, as we call it) fields. I guess it might be different for political sciences, some Humanities, etc.

And while some Germans complain about immigrants who apparently don't speak German and don't want to learn it, I think they mostly refer to immigrants from Turkey, Syria, Eastern Europe or generally Africa, and they most likely complain because they are racist. English speakers might actually be welcome because they.. you know, "counter the Muslim invasion".
