(28,493 posts)She couldn't secure the nomination in 2008, and she lost in 2016 don't people get? Yeah, so she did get more popular votes, but she did run a terrible campaign and it's not as though the Electoral College thing is brand new. Her staff should have been able to understand where she needed to be campaigning.
But never mind any of that. She's too old. So is Bernie. So is Biden. So are Kerry, Gore, and possibly Warren. I exempt Warren slightly because she's only 2 years younger than Hillary Clinton, but looks at least a decade younger. Still, it's long since time we, the Democratic Party, those here on DU, and the country as a whole, started looking at a younger generation for leadership. Well, we did in 2008, and turned our collective backs on that younger generation with who we nominated last year and who we elected.
Sherrod Brown, born in 1952, may also be too old, and I don't think he's all that interested.
Plus of course, trying to hype people who are absolutely never going to run, like Michelle Obama or Sally Yates, is silly.
