31. The timing suggests that the reason was to stop the investigation

If it was tuly for closing the Clinton investigation the way he did, or the way he announced the reopening of that investigation as claimed, why would the firing take place now, in May?

The Administration is trying to derail the Russia investigation -- simple as that.
