... he's too used to scripted reality TV for me to to nibble at that until we see what plays out.

The optics of "Hey, you hated him then I fired him and you're pissed" are what their propaganda people are pushing. It's a 140 character soundbyte, where "This is all old news, why are you getting around to it *now*?" is harder for low consumers of political information to understand as both truthful and on point.
