(36,747 posts)1. Personally I have always thought there should be random checks beyond the checkpoints.
And before the checkpoints. But they should use the Israeli method which is using well trained agents to strike up casual conversations with passengers. The key is "well trained", which many TSA agents are not.

Very few in the U.S. More in Europe. And more checkpoints in Europe and Japan also.
