19. i am entirely convinced that it's because they are guilty

and have been lamely trying to cover up since day 1. drip, drip, drip...flood. treason. impeachment, possibly prosecution. Rachel Maddow gave some terrific historical perspective on this yesterday. Nixon and the Saturday Night Massacre. Now, Nixon may have been going down regardless. But his actions when he fired the special prosecutor turned a lot of republicans against him because it telegraphed his guilt. same way here.
