14. Fake but real.

That's the thing. If it's fake, it's still a brilliantly-clear window into the horribly dysfunctional environment the man creates. It would not be an easy thing to write. Far too coherent. That ring of truth, that definite sense of personal knowledge -- hard to invent whole-cloth.

Anyone who's every lived through an abusive, dysfunctional environment must surely recognize the tone of hardened desperation, the dark wit of a victim living through the Final Plunge of Bad Daddy. And if they faked it, they had to really think deeply about it with no small degree of psychological acumen.

If it's fake, whoever wrote it is brilliant. Because it's all true.
