(12,369 posts)I put my skeptical glasses on while reading a number of these 'citizen journalists.' But I don't ignore their posts, nor do I discount them out of hand. Truth is, Mensch, Schindler, Taylor, Jester, Nance, Hennessey et al have been pretty damn accurate and ahead of the curve. They come at the issues with varying degrees of expertise and contacts. Then, too, the 'mainstream' press is beginning to verify aspects of their reports.
We need to glean information where ever we can attain it, run the facts and details through various filters for confirmation, and then be willing to tip our hats to those who have found the inside track. Doesn't matter whether those reports come from the Washington Post or a citizen journalist feed line.
Heads up, people. We've entered uncharted waters where reality itself is being challenged. Don't shoot the messenger.
