The system is a big improvement over the steam catapult; it has essentially one moving part. The system can adjust in real time for the changing effective weight of the aircraft as the ship pitches. Its time from zero to operational readiness is measured in minutes instead of hours, requires far fewer people to operate, can handle an entire range of aircraft from small drone to something the size of an F35, and switch between the two in seconds. Because digital.
Wait 'till 45 finds out the same thing is happening on the recovery end, and the software for that is even more complicated.
