You want proof?
During Bill Clinton's impeachment Oliver North was on television lecturing about how you must tell the truth when under oath. He even said "I did it."
The best the House impeachment managers could do, when asked if North had done anything wrong, was acknowledge that it was wrong for him to shred documents.
