5. I think the judge is making the right call based on the article

She is unlikely to become a surgeon because of a criminal conviction.
Her goal is to cure heart disease, she's in counseling and has a restraining order and was told to stay drug-free.

I think there is room for people of every station to grow from something like this. It's horrible what happened and she needs therapy for a long time but if it is indeed a one-off then yes, she should be given a second chance. I hope the judge gives others second chances as well and isn't favoring her for some other reason.
