Also was lowered to $28,000 a year, subjecting many, many more people to the top bracket. What did that do? It made a lot more people sympathetic to the right-wing, and the rich, since they too were suddenly affected by it. This is rarely talked about.
But yea, it was like a "who did the best war" fest when I was listening to it. I'd normally be asleep, but I hurt my arm yesterday, some kind of nerve pinch and it was keeping me awake.

actually it was even worse, the top tax rate in 1988 kicked in for individuals making only $17,850
