Republicans are such cowards though. They will hold out hope, and most likely do more than hope, that it all goes away or that the investigation ends with a whimper, ie. no conclusive evidence.

But in the end, if and when Trump is going down for real, they will all jump ship at once, scrambling, shoving and elbowing their way to get on the lifeboats first. And then claim "How could we have known the extent of Trump's crimes? We are shocked...shocked I tell you"
