They news after any event like this comes out in squirts--rather like a bad case of the shits, frankly.

It's not a "total data dump." There is a spasm, a splat of information, and then quiet, waiting for the next painful, slow cycle! In between squirts, they need something to fill the time. Those intelligence experts are the time fillers, who are there to yap-yap-yap while the talking heads play the same video over and over.

It's a formula.
