9. Nobody ever said that anyone who supports Bernie Sanders can't win.

That would make no sense. Jeff Merkley is in the Senate. Obviously he has already won.

I didn't hear anything about this woman being a socialist. If she had run a campaign in which she identified herself as such, and she and her opponent debated that, we might have something to discuss in that regards.

We'll never know what would have happened if Bernie had been the Democratic nominee. Even if he runs and wins in 2020 we still won't know what would have happened in 2016, under a different dynamic. But one thing we do know for sure: the Republicans would not have run against him as a good guy who they disagreed with on the issues. By the end of that election they would have provided us with all sorts of reasons why we should believe that Sanders is a truly miserable human being. Same goes for Martin O'Malley if he was the nominee. The GOP is ruthless and they are very good at lying to the American people.
