2. I kinda wish it were just about football

but it's about POWER, pure and simple. Jerry Sandusky was a wealthy and POWERFUL and popular man who preyed on young boys who were economically disadvantaged. Easy to see who would be believed. From the emails CNN released, I could see administrative butt covering going on. The subtext was ummm ... Sandusky could easily sue us for defamation. Let's play this carefully. Oh, yes, the fact that the power came from mega-money making sports didn't hurt any.

If it were a biology professor, he WOULD be protected IF he were million-dollar grant getter. It's the power.

All of it is sickening. Those boys are scarred for life by this predator.

But also consider the Catholic Church's shameful history with this. The priest had the power, the boys did not. And the culture of rape in our military. Officers not believing the young women, calling them "trouble makers."
