(907 posts)... Feeling the Bern, or some other liberal guy who doesn't fit his negative stereotype. He wouldn't be so brave then. By the way, isn't he aware that some nerds are conservatives?
What's with this hatred of nerds? I actually don't qualify as one (which is a criticism of myself); I just get sick and tired of the anti-intellectualism that is seemingly always associated with hatred of nerds. Sheesh! Talk about stereotyping!
So, a guy who isn't big and strong is a wimp? Really? Physical courage is not the only form of courage. How about moral courage? I once knew a white Southern Texan who had served in WW2 and became a civil rights attorney in the early 1950s. He had to put up with death threats against him and members of his family for about two decades. He was one of the most resilient men I've ever known. He was not one to be intimidated. Men in certain celebrity professions seem to crave popularity as a drug, starting in high school. Were civil rights activists seeking popularity?
So, Root, if a guy is slightly built, he's a "little wussy"? Tell that to all the survivors of the Holocaust whose lives were saved by the slightly built, plain looking Raoul Wallenberg who manifested moral courage to an amazing degree. He saved the lives of men who were physically stronger than he was, but were in a completely helpless situation. He was their savior.
