Like their idiot god-king, they believe that they are impervious to all harm and consequence, and their proof is that Trump is widely known to be a dangerous and out of control lunatic who nevertheless has access to the nuclear football.

And if, by some McConnell-defying miracle, he is run out of office, they will see it as an evil Libtard conspiracy, and it will re-energize them all over again.
