He may, or may not, realize he's playing into Putin's plans. He's not as bright as people want to think he is, he's purely ego driven, which Putin knows and banked on.

Meanwhile: Today the Saudi's and Russia made a new alliance in their oil ventures. Stay tuned! This drama hasn't even begun to play itself out yet.
