53. Neo-liberalism is NOT a progressive political ideology

It's an economic ideology, focused on free markets and globalism. It has no concerns over the environment, aside from what the market demands. If Priuses are big sellers, great, if Hummers are, so be it. If WalMart wants to destroy American manufacturing by importing cheap crap from China, let the market decide.

There are some who pay lip service to raising minimum wage or equal pay, but still don't stray far from the free market.

Someone who is a neoliberal economically can hold either progressive or conservative views on social issues- whatever is politically expedient. What matters is the bottom line- profit/"shareholder value". A lot of people don't get that.

Only those who honestly address income inequality and underemployment can be considered truly progressive economically.

Democrats who ignore or deny the NeoLiberals in the party do so at their own risk.
