7. So, okay...

Tens of millions of people would flock to Texas, a state that can ALREADY barely support its current population of twenty-five million. Texas, a notoriously conservative state with a fiscal policy that revolves around NOT tending public infrastructure like roads, sanitation, education, and public safety.

In the middle of a drought.

In other words...

He wants Texas to become a solitary nation on the world stage - a solitary state politically and culturally hostile to every other nation in the Western Hemisphere. While it is "finding its feet" on the world stage, it will - apparently - be suffering one of the worst refugee humanitarian crises seen outside of the African Sahel. And unless it abandons its own reasons for seceding, Texas will become a poverty-riddled third-world nation whose economy is based primarily on maquiladoras - sweatshops - ringed by cardboard slums.

Most likely, he just has no fucking idea what the hell he's talking about, which is par for the course, I guess.
