I thought the strange part of Maher likening himself to the house slave (look what i didn't say there) is that it's an admission he's a hypocrite for his masters too. That he identifies w his corporate overloads. And that's the opposite of his image. He really fits no where in the slave narrative, truthfully except as a master.
The only part of this I found amusing is that the man who constantly chides Dems for apologizing, who paints himself as the ultimate iconoclast has actually gone an apologized to his corporate masters. So I guess the house slave comment was actually prescient. The irony is kind of delicious. But that runs counter to his many supporters who insisted he had nothing to apologize for. Do they "get that"? I've seen no evidence they have.
Am still confused about what's missing in the OP.
