I confess to being a vocabulary, grammar and spelling geek/nerd.

I listened to a young man hoping to run for congress in my district in Illinois. He told the audience that he did not grow up in the state. He kept pronouncing it "Ill-a-noise."

I think it unlikely he will be the candidate, based on that alone.
