The article is ridiculous. It is not the answer to the Democratic Party's issues anymore than Trump being the answer that those voters were seeking.

The article boils down to the point that in order to be successful that the Dem Party needs to be more centrist, more racist and more Christian-focused, in other words a center-right watered down Republican Party.
Fuck that.

Sorry, trump and republicans are not going to give those that voted for them any satisfaction or improve their lives. Hate, racism and religious zealotry is not going to help us win elections.

As a white male, I find this crying about "black people get all the advantages now" is bullshit. It's a lie. Things are not disparately in favor of people of color. What this article does is allow trump and republicans to control the narrative and engender the very racist myth that people of color get all the advantages now. These type of conversations do nothing to solve real issues that exist in hiring, housing, law enforcement and justice for people of color.

Illegal immigrants make up 4% of the population, majority employed in jobs most whites would not do at any price (ask AL among others). Blaming 4% of the population for your problems, be it economic or social, is not a campaign issue, it is an education issue, because it's pure ignorance.

Sorry, not buying the "become republican-lite" as the answer.
