and it's not clear how that happens.

in terms of indictments and prosecutions, money is the easiest to prove. lots of digging, but there's a paper trail waiting to be found. not so easy to prove collusion, to distinguish it from a mere coincidence of interests. at least not without some of the aforementioned money paper trail. and blackmail? it's not illegal to be the victim of blackmail, even if you foolishly supplied the blackmail material. the question is what did you do to escape the wrath of the blackmailer? again, hard to prove anything without that money paper trail.

however, it's hard to see foxnews abandoning benedict donald because of something they'll call a "business deal". depends a bit on exactly what the paper trail turns up, i guess, but given the complexity of donnie's myriad shell companies, it's likely to be "too complicated". foxnews will just throw up their hands and say no one can know for certain it's so complicated and democrats are jumping to partisan conclusions, blah, blah, blah.

i keep thinking of that quote from edwin edwards, that nothing could sink him unless he's caught with a dead girl or a live boy.

so maybe we're back to the blackmail material after all -- though i'm not sure we'll ever be able to uncover that.
