30. Americans offended

Your posting is offensive to many Americans. It is also absolutely correct. White Americans can be as offended as they want by your words. We should be because we are all guilty to some degree. Looking in the mirror is very frightening. I am white. I vote. Is my choice of who to vote for shaped by the legal slaughter of Black Americans? Or is it shaped by my healthcare, my finances, or my concerns for myself (or my white privilege)? Looking in the mirror is very painful... and enlightening.

The wanton killing of Black Americans is an American phenomenon. And it has been for all of American History. My role in this is obvious to me when I look deeply into the mirror. How deeply in the mirror do offended White Americans look. Perhaps not deeply enough.
