7. Aside from the specifics of this event, that is my reaction, too.

It feels like a plague, and the NRA has successfully lobbied cowardly lawmakers to prevent the CDC and others from studying gun violence as a public health issue. (And yes, if anyone is thinking of schooling me, I am well aware that many domestic violence victims are slain by other means, and it would have been just as horrific if she had been stabbed or strangled). Two kids have lost their mom and our community has lost a dedicated nurse practitioner. I feel sick about this, and about domestic abuse, and killing innocent people.
