26. This is hopeful and dangerous

I understand that something posted on DU will not convince many conservatives but it may convince some. There is no silver bullet. Conservatives have to be convinced one at a time. That's the hopeful bit.

Now the dangerous bit. If postings from DU are not well reasoned, calm and something you would want your grandmother to read, it convinces conservatives that liberals are unreasoned, irrational and profane - and should be ignored.

We would all do well to make sure our posts are fact based and rationale. As Colbert said, "Reality has a well known liberal bias." It only makes sense to argue reality.
