He's trying to turn us into a puppet state of the remnants of a failed communist empire.

I'm no fan of Reagan (and don't believe he deserve much credit for the collapse of the ussr) but can you imagine what he'd say? We defeated the Soviet Union only to surrender to what's left of Russia?
