(45,806 posts)it. I don't think we've ever had the conversation but I do get the feeling that other States, even Counties, and for sure other States or Countries have to deal with their problems the best way THEY CAN. It doesn't affect their lives so it not their problem!
I'm retired and living on SS. I care very much about the people on Medicaid even though I'm not. I do aadmit though, I've been closely watching what they decide to do with Medicare. I currently have a supplement ins. to pay what Medicare doesn't and I've used it more often than i want recently. I rarely have any bill over $50.00 after paying my $175 deductible. Bit I'm well aware of how quick all that can disappear with the mouth of some Pub AH in Congress. I can't help think how awful it would be if i were under 65 and faced with a HC premium the thousands of $$ per month! I made decent $$ when I worked, but I sure could never have afforded thousands per month! As it was, my husband had to continue working for and additional year after he turned 65 because I'm a year younger than he. What these AHs are doing to the most vulnerable of our citizens is disgusting. and all their moves could affect any of us, whether it be us, our parents, even our children.
