73. My take on it is they are torn...

... nobody wants to say "I'm from a shitty state." I've seen so many liberals in the South get huffy, though, even if you specifically say that "Republican Southerners are assholes; our liberal friends behind the lines are 100% OK with me." They still take criticism of the region as an attack on them.

I've been called an arrogant Yankee who "doesn't get our culture" to which I respond: "Maybe not, but the parts of your culture I'm criticizing are the ones associated with conservatives, like waving the Rebel Flag, hating blacks, refusing to educate oneself and abusing women!"
