(46,179 posts)why I would need to; until 2016, neoliberalism was discussed frequently at DU without any need to defend it. Still, if you need the information, you can delve here, and in other places:

I have, of course, noted the new urge at DU to: 1. Suggest that neoliberalism isn't real, or 2. If it is, defend it. Neoliberalism hasn't changed. Partisan Democrats have shifted to support a neoliberal establishment.
The above links should make it clear why I think neoliberalism, and neoliberals, are the enemy. While I'm not a fan of Putin, I'm well aware that Putin is not Russia, just as Trump is not America. I freely acknowledge that Russian government, like so many others, is riddled with corruption, and meddles on the global scene. So does the United States. I reference the cold war, because I can remember the fear of the Soviet Union from my childhood. I can remember McCarthyism. The current rants about Russia being our enemy are certainly reminiscent of those times. I'm not saying that there isn't something to what you say; of course, the United States is also ruled by oligarchs. I think we ought to clean up our own house before we throw stones, to mix some metaphors. I'm saying that while there may be some legitimacy to concerns about Russia, the bigger enemies are right here at home. I think that some of the outrage about Russia is a deliberate distraction by those that don't want to acknowledge and confront our own corruption.
