75. If there's nobody in front of you and everybody behind you, you're the problem

Regardless of legality, you're the impediment. You're forcing people to break up their cruising and adapt to you. This happens millions, tens of millions, hundreds of millions of times a day, and a certain percentage of these events results in a collision.

Obviously, some people are assholes; if you're passing slower traffic and they're being jerks behind you, then it's not you. And I take special pleasure in foiling people that try to come up from my right rear and cram themselves into the safety cushion I have between my car and the vehicle I'm following.

But if you're passing with a 1 MPH speed advantage, then, really, you're not helping. "Look, technically speaking, I'm passing!" still makes you the impediment, the discontinuity in the smooth flow of traffic.
