The treatment in the US has never been tested on Charlie's version of the disorder. Doctors at one of the best hospitals in Britain have agreed that he has no change to recover and that taking him to the US for treatment that is virtually certain to fail would inflict unnecessary suffering for no good reason. This is Terry Schiavo v.2, nothing more - this child is no more likely to recover than Terri Schiavo was; Trump, like Bush (and Jeb) before him is using a family's high-profile and tragic suffering to score political points. Trump doesn't give a damn about this kid, any more than he gives a damn about the thousands of American kids who are likely to die if the ACA is repealed.
