We did "Battle Hymn" this spring, actually. I've always loved it.
"As he died to make men holy, let us live to make men free" is one of the most beautiful poetic lines ever.

Yes, and we had to sing it in Church on Palm Sunday last year. So, I quit the choir and the church.

Yes. Our 1950s-1960s school songbooks had quite a section of songs related to war & patriotism...
