In reply to the discussion: Folks, can we stop the shit shaming here? [View all]BlancheSplanchnik
(20,219 posts)54. Thanks. I've had to work hard at psychological recovery for a long time.
Every now and then, the subject comes up and I need to...dump. :snarf:
It's not looking for pity and comfort so much, like it used to be. It's just my response, rather than shamefully feeling bad but saying nothing.
It's also a kind of public service message, because more people than you might think suffer from these diseases. Many people young and old die of them too (I nearly died myself), but generally people aren't aware of how serious IBD is. It's "just a gross bathroom thing, and bags/people with bags are disgusting".

I don't shame shit. Everytime I take a dump, I say, "Wow! You're a doozy!"

I don't know what your post means. Is it making fun of the "can't we stop fat shaming" posts? nt

I am a person with an ileostomy. Shit-shaming is actually pretty triggery for me.
