17. Find out what is *really* driving their vote, and discuss that instead.

You know that 9 times out of 10, it will be abortion, gay rights, minorites, welfare or some other "social" issue. Get them to admit that they are essentially single-issue voters, in the hopes that someday they will be embarrassed into reconsidering how they think.
