A top White House official acknowledged Monday that President Reagan sometimes dozed off at Cabinet meetings but said it had ''more to do with what's going on in the meeting than what time of day it is.''

''These meetings are sometimes boring, and I doze off, too,'' Michael Deaver, the deputy chief of staff, told NBC News.

The comment was made in an interview with NBC's Chris Wallace in connection with a televised profile of Mr. Reagan, who is 73 years old. Mr. Wallace said that ''even when he's working, officials have described a disengaged President'' who ''just accepts staff recommendations'' and sleeps in meetings from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M.
