(6,123 posts)From time to time he flashed his big, phony smile and went into his bigger than life mode, but it was only for show and not sustainable. In his role as President, he has to do this far more than he'd like. He would much rather be doing things he enjoys like hitting a golf ball around and chewing the fat with his buds. Making deals, right, Donnie? He can be crude, say inappropriate things and just be himself. With this bunch of international leaders, he had to act like he had a clue, which is hard work when you are clueless. He had to act like he was engaged and interested. Here again it is hard work when you are obsessed with bragging about your victories and besides talking about the future of the world is soooo boring. When do we break? Do we get a nap time? I need a Diet Coke.
Nope, he found out that no one was very interested in him or working to get in his good graces. Once they met him, they pretty much had him pegged. In fact, they made it plain they are moving on with or without him. That was a knife in the heart to a guy who lives and breathes attention and praise. He was just another attendee and one who turned out to not be top dog. It seems that being President is not nearly as much fun as he thought it would be and people talk back, disagree with you and sometimes they even ignore you if you piss them off enough. Sucks to be you, huh, Donnie?
