10. 1) The GOP has proven to be a Russian Mob Franchise on the National Level. Hail Hydra.

While the Democrats have their faults, and there's probably quite a few that have taken Russian money alongside their GOP comrades, as the Democratic party is a Coalition of local moneyed and economic interests even on a National Level (which keeps it Center-Left/nominally Liberal), the mob ownership is not as great.

2) Police and "Law Enforcement" - especially the "good guy" types -will always tend to unquestioningly support/follow authoritarian "rule" until it's absolutely, unmistakably proven to be corrupt. Then, more than likely, the people who wanted to "do the right thing" when they became police will just quit or be replaced by people who just want a regular paycheck.
Despite the Movies and TV shows, most police don't act independently, because in an authoritarian hierarchy, the nail that sticks up gets hammered.
Sadly, most police tend to go through the motions to do what they think is their job and leave the logic and deductive thinking to the next guy up the chain for the most part. Whether or not Law Enforcement is corrupt depends on the people at the top of whatever LE agency is in charge.

3) Media and most social functions have pretty much been captured by Money interests. It's all about who owns what and the payments to Mammon, not the individual rights an actual freedoms and personal dignity. We're consumers in an ownership society, and that's all we are worth to the owners. Look at what our media shows us - to be successful, we have to be able to buy our success. Otherwise, we're just criminals or losers who should die in ditches and gutters as soon as we become useless.

So, yeah - to be perfectly cynical, there's not much that can be done, unless the people on the margins care enough not to just become Russian "Citizens" - a disposable, sleepwalking workforce only able to act, own things, or work dependent on the Oligarchs that own everything, including the commons that are supposed to serve the general public.
